practices of care for more intimate, wakeful states of being.
Instructions for living a life:
Pay attention.
Be astonished.
Tell about it.
~ Mary Oliver
Much of life’s intimacy lives in quiet waves.
I have found some of the most enriching memories not to be on top of steep mountains or in grand cathedrals, but within the flickering ripples of tiny moments: the delight of an unexpected birdsong while in pain, the deep warmth of a new lover’s cheek, the feeling of a tense body realising joy as it surrenders to saltwater rhythms.
There is a need to be bold, to be outspokenly truthful. Big waves re-shape cliffs and the hardest-edged shells.
Yet there is also the essential practice of returning to the connection we have in the family of things.
Quiet waves are the spaces where the ocean rests.
Even the tiniest ripple belongs to the vastness of the whole.
Even a moment of remembering our interbeing changes the conversation.
How did we arrive here?
How does this affect beyond me, beyond this time and place?
What am I receiving? How can I contribute to this moment? What’s truly important?
Quiet waves allow space to c-a-r-e: connect. appreciate. rejuvenate. express.
May these practices and resources offer droplets of beauty, understanding and invigoration for you to feel anew, breath to breath. May we discover increasing capacity to be real and intimate, fully alive in our unique worlds, as well as the world we share.
With presence and dedication, I acknowledge the lands on which we create, live, laugh and love.
I sow deep respect to the original people of Naarm/Wurundjeri country; their elders past, present and emerging.
Deep bows also to the timeless wisdom of yoga, traditional Eastern therapies and their guardians. May we continue to celebrate the sustenance of spirit, land, waters, skies, traditions, culture and stories with great care.

about lucy
Lucy means ‘bringer of light’. Something to live towards, and I am in full appreciation of the privilege.
Be it yoga, pranayama, meditation, zenthai shiatsu or savouring a strong hot chai together - all of it can be a practice of connection. I have experienced the deep transformative potential of these embodied practices to clear away the debris of a scattered mind and heart. What is revealed and remembered within each of us is a kinder, more peaceful and expansive state of being.
My dedication is to incline the spirit towards beauty, reverence and care. I support each person through a conversation of voice, breath, fluid movement and attentive touch, with the compass of a clearer and more open sense of self.
From this place, we can become more soulful architects of how we relate to our inner landscapes and our belonging to the wider world.
Lucy (she/her) was born in China, grew up in Aotearoa/NZ, and currently lives on Wurundjeri land (Melbourne). She is the co-founder and director of Estuary Yoga Space, mama to a greyhound named Aria, and forever enchanted by dappled light.

zenthai shiatsu
fluidity - totality - heartfulness
Zenthai Shiatsu draws on the energetic approaches of Zen Shiatsu and Traditional Thai Massage, the remedial techniques of Osteopathy and the key principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda.
Just as waterways and estuaries etched into our planet carry nutrients and communication, the energetic channels of the body convey the currents of our life-force and sustain our vitality. We accumulate the residue of everyday living - including toxins, stress, traumas, imbalances, unprocessed emotional and physical experiences. This contributes to stagnation and dis-orientation of these pathways, and thus the formation of dis-ease.
Zenthai Shiatsu works not with ‘fixing’ ailments. Instead, it utilises a variety of techniques to support the body towards its most harmonious state and clear way for our powerful innate healing capacity. It has evolved to be widely recognised as a structurally effective and energetically profound form of therapy, particularly useful in working with issues of the musculo-skeletal, digestive and nervous systems.
Gratitude to Sally Meredith, and ZTS founder Gwyn Williams, along wtih the many wise and kind practitioners who have been my teachers.
notes of appreciation
“Zenthai Shiatsu with Lucy was a comforting, therapeutic, and releasing experience for my mind and body. I felt nurtured and heard for the whole session.
Lucy would apply various levels of pressure through thoughtful body positions and binds where I let go of tension from my head all the way to my feet. I especially loved the feeling of firm slow deep pressure, to vigorous, to flicking and tapping to release tension/energy.
Connecting to the breath work also helped me stay in touch and listen to my own body. I left the studio floating on a cloud and full of good energy. Thank you!”

“Lucy gifts the body poetry through her Zenthai practice. She both softens and reinvigorates; and brings the body home through connection. After a first massage, I established a regular treatment ritual with Lucy as I knew that working with her gifts would ensure a more even tempered and joyous outlook to my weeks.”

Everything is ecstasy, inside.
We just don't know it because of our thinking-minds. But in our true blissful essence of mind is known that everything is alright forever and forever and forever.
Close your eyes, let your hands and nerve-ends drop, stop breathing for 3 seconds, listen to the silence inside the illusion of the world, and you will remember the lesson you forgot, which was taught in immense milky way soft cloud innumerable worlds long ago, and not even at all.
It is all one vast awakened thing.
I call it the golden eternity.
It is perfect.
~ Jack Kerouac
